Join us for a discussion with two of the Kennedy experts featured in the recent CNN mini-series American Dynasties: The Kennedys. We'll show a 20-minute excerpt, followed by a Q&A with BARBARA PERRY and EVAN THOMAS, who were both featured throughout the documentary. Tea, coffee, and light refreshments will be served before the program, starting at 3:15 p.m.

Books by Barbara Perry and Evan Thomas will be for sale, and a book signing will follow the event.

Evan Thomas

EVAN THOMAS is a writer, author, and journalist. He was a correspondent and editor for 33 years at TIME and Newsweek, including ten years (1986-1996) as Washington Bureau Chief at Newsweek, where he was editor at large until retiring in 2010. Thomas has taught writing and journalism at Harvard and Princeton. From 2007 to 2014 he was Ferris Professor of Journalism in Residence at Princeton. He has written over nine books, two of which were New York Times best sellers. His books include Robert Kennedy: His Life; Ike's Bluff: President Eisenhower's Secret Battle to Save the World; and Being Nixon: A Man Divided.

BARBARA A. PERRY is the Gerald L. Baliles Professor and director of presidential studies at the Miller Center, where she co-directs the Presidential Oral History Program. She directed the Edward Kennedy Oral History Project. She has authored or edited 12 books on presidents, First Ladies, the Kennedy family, the Supreme Court, and civil rights and civil liberties. Her books include Rose Kennedy: The Life and Times of a Political Matriarch; Jacqueline Kennedy: First Lady of the New Frontier; and Edward Kennedy: An Oral History (forthcoming).
