In his first State of the Union address, President Barack Obama highlights the accomplishments and obstacles during his first year as president and his visions for the future.  The major challenges in his address are centered on the national deficit and economic recession.   Obama announces that in order to overcome these challenges the nation needs to focus on financial reform, innovation, increased exportation of U.S. goods, and investing in education.  He also gives his thoughts on the military situation in Iraq and Afghanistan.
