President Johnson holds a press conference in the East Room of the White House where he nominated Thurgood Marshall as Solicitor General and discusses developments in Vietnam and the Dominican Republic. President Johnson receives questions from the press about the possibilities for war and peace in Vietnam, the repeal of the Poll Tax, and the slowly developing anti-war movement in America.
